”But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.“ ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/59/heb.5.14.ESV I'm praying that you will have discernment, and know right from wrong. Pick the right side. Believe. sound doctrine. Stop the immaturity, and function like Christ designed you to work.

Decluttering

Father. please help me to let go of stuff. I collect so much of it! help me to know what should be thrown away so one day my kids aren't picking through my life, asking why I kept all this junk. help me to let go of what lies behind and press ahead. Lord, after last week's trip the the RCC, i feel lighter in my mind. maybe someone else still has a tape player or DVD player to enjoy those outdated electronics. anyway, they are out of my book area. i wont feel guilt snd nostalgia every time I look at them. On the other hand, Lord, thank You for the milestones, the memories worth keeping.

Direction

Lord, Please help us to seek Your path. Prov. 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will will make your path straight. Knowing Your will is tricky. We can't see around the bend, but You can. You know us, you knew us from eternity past and are not limited, like we are, by time and space. We entrust the uncertain future to You.

Emergencies

Lord, please help those in the Northeast US who have lost power in frigid weather. Please enable my brother's family to keep warm! Father, this makes me think of those in war zones who have disrupted power and supplies, or whose homes may even have been bombed. Please, Lord, have mercy on the war-torn countries. Israel and Palestine. Ukraine and Russia. Ecuador, embroiled in drug wars and gangs. Please bring them physical aid, but also draw them to Yourself so that they might know You. Send hands of compassion to ease their suffering.

Growing in Love

Image
I pray that our will grow in love. Some love is easy–the happy child, The attentive sweetheart. Lord, please help us love the step-kid who resents. The spouse who is sick and helpless, When he longs to be the protector And squirms with being the protected. Make our love as sturdy as a fortress. As deep and wide as the ocean. Make our love more like Yours.

Mental Help

Image
Heavenly Father, God of all comfort, please heal our broken places. Show us where You are working even though we feel alone. please help the schoolkids and teachers and workers that no one feels like an island. i keep thinking about Jesus saying, "a smoking flax He will not quench; a broken reed He will not break." If I can ease someone's pain, set the broken bone, carry the backpack for awhile, show me. please give me the mental energy to do so. You have filled my cup, Lord, and Im grateful beyone words!

Walk

Image
Lord, please show us Your path. Our tendency to go our own way and not consult roadmaps is famous. This week, we took a walk. Checked the weather ahead. It said, "Possible rain in 30 minutes." After 20 blissful moments in balmy air, the wind kicked up and the sprinkles began. By the time we were back on our street, thunder shook the ground. After reaching safety, it poured! Thank you, Jesus, for safely accompanying us home. Thank you for keeping my sis-in-law safe in the car wreck she had yesterday, sponsored by a young, inexperienced driver. In all our ways, You direct our paths. Sometimes, you plan for us to encounter disaster, but You hold onto us throughout the ordeal. Thank You for giving us safety for one more day.
