 I saw missionary friends home for the holidays. Ran into them accidentally at Fadi’s.  Lord, please bless this time of refreshment for them and their babies!  Enable the people around them to give freely to them.  For refugees who have no home to return to… For migrants looking for a home…. For the homeless… God, please intervene. We know a sparrow doesn’t fall from a nest without your knowledge.  Please take care of the vast, swarming bunch of humanity.  I know you direct us and call us.  Please save us and help us glorify you. 

 Lord, I pray for those who have lost their way. I see them on the streets. No home, health or family I pray for the ones who struggle with addictions Or illness.  Anyone apart from you, Lord,  Please help them find you.  Send someone to them with help and Words of life and peace.  You are Lord of the Harvest,  The Good Shepherd; You’ve said that The Kingdom of Heaven  Is a woman looking for her lost coin; a pearl merchant;  A field worker who comes  across great treasure.  Lord, you value each of the Least of these.  Teach me to value them, also. 

 There are so many things I wish for you.  Today I hope you find your strength.  I hope you hang out with somebody you love.  I hope a child makes you smile. I hope you get to bake Christmas cookies or hear Christmas carols.  I hope the sky is blue over your part of the world, or rainy if you desperately need the rain!

Isaiah54:4  Dear God,  Please help us. You forgive us and give us chances to grow in our faith. You hand us opportunities to learn new things. You challenge us with adverse circumstances and difficult people.  Please let me love like you do.  Help me to judge situations correctly,  To be obedient and trusting. Help me to reject the role of  Church critic,  Skeptical bystander,  Second-guesser, armchair quarterback.  I lift up to you those who are out there  Doing missions,  Preaching sermons, counseling,  Serving you in ways I do not.  Please support them when it gets tough.  Take my bank account and mouth and body And use me to support them when you call me to it.  Forgive me, Lord, for standing...

  Thank you, Lord, for evenings in my beautiful town.  For good friends visiting.  Please open my eyes to the wonder,  And to the tasks beckoning.  Let me see those who need me.  Open my ears to hear your voice.  Strengthen my hands to do your work.  There is so much to do this week, Lord, please help me do the stuff.  So. Much. Stuff! But let me perceive the good stuff. 

Praying for those approaching the holidays with the pain off fresh loss. It’s hard to Jingle All the Way when you miss someone you love. Praying that the God of all Comfort will fill your mind and heart, even as you know He keeps that loved on (if you are a believer) safe in His care. You will see them again. This life is not all there is.  In fact, the good things of this life are just a shadow of celebrations to come.  The sufferings of our current circumstances will fade away like a bad dream.  Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time  Are not worthy To be compared With the glory That is to be revealed in us.”
