Matthew 8

 Lord, 

I call on You today inspired by Matthew 8.  You healed lepers, cast out demons, calmed the sea.  You have authority over everything that ails us. 

Please help my friend who is convinced that demons rather than drugs are responsible for his trouble mind.  Who am I to say?  Please put a hedge around him.  If he doesn't yet have saving faith, please bring him to that point.  Either way, God, I pray healing for his body and mind.  He's young.  He should have many years to serve you, to be a son, to be a dad, to live and work and maybe even fall in love again.  Please build beauty and worship into his life. 

Lord, I ask for children.  Please make them compassionate.  Some of them tend to bully others.  Not sure why.  They have asked you into their lives and been baptized.  Maybe it didn't take?  Please surround them with you presence.  Build your fruit into them.  Help their parents to get a clue about how to work on them.  I surely don't know the answers!  

For my kids, God, I ask wisdom.  Bless them financially; open the right doors; enable them to be faithful and follow your commandments.  We can all resemble the ground where the good seed gets choked out by. weeds of worldly worry. 

For my husband and me, show us the everlasting way.  When You are done with me here, take me home.  Lots of days, I'm ready to come although the views here are charming.

First Day of School

 Lord, please help all the kids loading up their backpacks and heading out the door.  Please bless the teachers with empathy and stamina.  Help parents to choose wisely in words and preparation. Please intervene those who don't have choices, who aren't allowed an education.  Father, as VIPkid closes, I ask you favors for China.  For the students and ordinary people, I ask You to spread Your wings over them and draw them to You.  As Afghanistan succumbs to the Taliban, please protect the innocents.

Emergencies

Lord, please help those in the Northeast US who have lost power in frigid weather. Please enable my brother's family to keep warm! Father, this makes me think of those in war zones who have disrupted power and supplies, or whose homes may even have been bombed. Please, Lord, have mercy on the war-torn countries. Israel and Palestine. Ukraine and Russia. Ecuador, embroiled in drug wars and gangs. Please bring them physical aid, but also draw them to Yourself so that they might know You. Send hands of compassion to ease their suffering.
